Poker Article by Johnny Hale 10 Rules To Poker By - Johnny Hale
Howdy partners-I have been looking forward to taking another ride with you down the poker trails. But first why don't we just step down out of the saddle for a spell and go into the old (no the new Golden Nugget) here in Las Vegas and have a drink to cut this trail dust out of our throats? Then we can go into the poker room and play a few hands of poker.

2003 WSOP- Day 1 - Howard Lederer
About a year ago, I made what turned out to be a fortuitous decision. I decided to concentrate a much larger portion of my poker time to getting my NLHE tournament game into peak shape. Spurred on in equal parts by some who have foolishly suggested that side game players don't make successful tournament players, a desire to be a part of the next big thing in poker (the WPT), and by the knowledge that the really big scores in poker are to be had in NLHE, I vowed to go to all the major no-limit tournaments... for at least a year and see what happens. Not only would this allow me to sharpen my no-limit skills, but I would have a chance to study up on the new crop of players.

2003 WSOP- Day 2 - Howard Lederer
I woke up on day 2 after a good night's sleep and rushed to my computer to check out my table draw for the day. I was not surprised to see Phil Ivey and Daniel Negreanu at my table. What I didn't like was that they were both to my left. Daniel did not have a big stack, but Ivey had me more than doubled. I found myself dealing with a sudden case of nerves. Yes, I was still in the biggest poker tournament in history, yes, I had two of the toughest tournament players to my left, but this is what I live for. I had been preparing for this tournament my entire life. I decided that once I sat down, my nerves would get better. The anticipation of playing was harder on the nerves than actually playing itself.

2003 WSOP- Day 3 - Howard Lederer
I woke up on day three after a restless sleep. The morning nerves were there again. I went to the computer and looked at my table lineup. I was pleased to see that I had twice as many chips as the next biggest stack. I was not pleased to see Paul Darden and Johnny Chan at my table. At least, Paul, the stack two to my left, was really short. My nerves went away as soon as I entered the Horseshoe, I felt ready to play.

2003 WSOP- Day 4 - Howard Lederer
I had another iffy night's sleep after day three. Not that I didn't sleep. Just that my dreams were dominated by poker and the tournament. I am finding that the hardest part of this tournament for me is all the time between play. My mind is constantly occupied with thoughts like; what if Farha is to my left, what if I bluff off my chips, what if I catch a big rush and win this thing? When I am at the table, my mind is occupied with only the matters at hand. I find it calming.

Poker Article by Jarrid Krieger 7 Card Stud - Lesson One - Jarrid Krieger
Out of all of the different poker games Seven Card Stud is by far my favorite. There is just something about the game that I just love. Poker News Article A New Game - Poker News!
Times have changed. Traffic is skyrocketing and the average player will always be giving money away, therefore you're more likely to run into losing players than you were before. (You do the math.) What has changed the most is not the luck aspect of the winning player, as many feel, but the importance of game-time decisions has risen to a level higher than it's ever been.
