In this column I am going to try to write a little bit about one of the things that I think is wrong with poker, and the way the rules of poker are not always in the best interest of the game of poker.

Many times during a poker game, one player will become unhappy with the way another player has played a hand and 'unpleasantries' will be exchanged. Sometimes, one of them will challenge the other to a freeze-out, just between the two of them. In medieval days they would settle the dispute with a duel, the freeze out is poker's version of that classic tradition...

Folks, today I am a little concerned about the subject of luck vs skill in the playing of poker? I get these emails all the time, asking me if I ever run bad for a long period of time at the poker tables.
The answer is "Yes! Of course I do!" I put my pants on one leg at a time just like everyone else. In Oklahoma we have many sayings, but the one that comes to mind when people ask that question is "If the horse throws you off, get back on and ride that horse again!"
